In a significant development, Afghanistan have announced a huge international schedule featuring multi-format series against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The Afghanistan side will host both teams in the UAE, with the action set to begin on October 9 and continue until November 17.
The upcoming schedule will see Afghanistan involved in international cricket across multiple formats against two quality sides. With matches spread across October and November, the UAE will host a busy period of cricket for all three teams.
Afghanistan to host Bangladesh for One-One-Off Test
Afghanistan will start the proceedings with a one-off Test against Bangladesh, scheduled from October 9 to 13 in the UAE. The exact venue or stadium for the match has not been announced so far by the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
Afghanistan and Bangladesh have played two Tests so far, with Afghanistan winning one and Bangladesh claiming the other, both in Bangladesh. This will be Afghanistan’s first time hosting Bangladesh, opening a huge period of international cricket.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to Play ODI Tri-Series
Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will face each other in an ODI tri-series starting on October 17 in the UAE. Each team will play the other once, before the top two sides meet in the final on October 23 to decide the winner.
This will be the first ODI tri-series involving Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe together, making it a significant step for all three sides. With the 2027 World Cup in Africa around 12 months away, the series will offer valuable preparation.

Afghanistan and Zimbabwe to Play Three T20Is and Two Tests
Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will conclude the multi-format series for Afghanistan with three T20Is and two Tests in the UAE. The T20I series will begin on October 27 and continue through November 1, before the two-Test series starts on November 5, with the second Test scheduled from November 13.
Afghanistan have a superior T20I record against Zimbabwe, losing just two of their 21 meetings, with their last defeat coming two years ago. In Tests, both teams have won two of their five matches, with one drawn. This will be their first series in the UAE after their initial two meetings in 2021.
