On Wednesday, April 8, Delhi Capitals will lock horns against Gujarat Titans for IPL 2026 match 14. The two teams will square off against each other at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The two teams have got off to contrasting start in the tournament.

Delhi Capitals have won their first two games, while the Shubman Gill-led side are yet to win a solitary game. Talking about Delhi, they started IPL 2026 with a comfortable win over Lucknow Super Giants. The Axar Patel-led side followed it up with a win over the Mumbai Indians.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, came close twice but faltered towards the end. Firstly, they lost to the Punjab Kings and then suffered a defeat against the Rajasthan Royals in a thriller.

DC vs GT Preview

Sameer Rizvi has been the find of the tournament so far. The right-handed batter holds the orange cap for two consecutive fifties. The UP-based cricketer has scored 160 runs in two innings, averaging 160. The Capitals are performing well across all departments.

The only concern for them is KL Rahul’s form. The Indian star has just 1 run in two matches, which features a golden duck in the opening match. The fans are keen whether Delhi will continue with the same XI or make a few changes to their combination. Therefore, this article will shed light on the Delhi Capitals’ strongest playing XI vs GT.

Delhi Capitals Likely Playing XI vs Gujarat Titans- Match 14

Openers and Top Order (KL Rahul, Pathum Nissanka, Nitish Rana)

The top-order has been a big concern for the Delhi Capitals so far. KL Rahul has scored just one run in two matches. Pathum Nissanka returned to form with a brilliant 44 (30). Again, at No.3, Nitish Rana is yet to get going.

The southpaw has scored just 15 runs in two innings. He averages 7.50 but will be given a longer rope to get back in form. It is high time that the Delhi Capitals’ top-order gets going because now it has been two matches where the Capitals have lost three to four wickets in the powerplay.

Middle Order and All Rounders (Sameer Rizvi, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel)

The middle-order has been Delhi Capitals’ strength so far, particularly Sameer Rizvi. Against LSG, DC were 26/4, and Rizvi played a knock of a lifetime by scoring an unbeaten 70 (47). He again pulled DC out of trouble against MI and scored 90 (51).

In both games, Tristan Stubbs and David Miller were the key figures on the opposite end. Therefore, the two overseas players will continue to headline the middle-order. Further, Axar Patel might be used as a floater, and his batting order will be based on the situation of the game.

Bowlers (Auqib Nabi, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Lungi Ngidi)

The bowling department has been on song for the Delhi Capitals as well. Lungi Ngidi has not made the Capitals feel Mitchell Starc’s absence. The left-arm seamer is yet to recover fully, and there is no update on his return. Coming back to Ngidi, he has 4 wickets in two innings.

Mukesh Kumar and T Natarajan have been brilliant as well as economical. Therefore, they will also retain their place. Kuldeep Yadav is yet to get going, but since he is a key figure in DC’s set-up, the management won’t risk benching him.

Nonetheless, Capitals are expected to make one change, which is to hand Auqib Nabi his IPL debut. The J&K star is most likely to replace Vipraj Nigam, who has just one wicket in two matches.
