West Indies made 2 changes to their ODI squad vs NZ (Source: AFP)
Cricket West Indies has made a couple of late adjustments to its squad as the home ODI series against New Zealand heads into its decisive stage. Struck with injuries and trailing 1-2 in the series, the board has recalled an attacking top-order batter and a cunning all-rounder in a bid to reverse its fortunes.
It is worth noting that opening batter John Campbell, as well as seasoned all-rounder and Test captain Roston Chase, have both been ruled out of the remainder of the series owing to their respective injuries.
West Indies recall Brandon King, Justin Greaves for NZ ODIs
Cricket West Indies has recalled star all-rounder Justin Greaves as well as attacking top-order batter Brandon King back into the national squad for the remainder of the home ODI series against New Zealand.
Greaves recently played the Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka before opting out of the national side for the subsequent five-match ODI rubber against the ‘Black Caps’ owing to a back injury. He has been called back to the national side as an official replacement for fellow all-rounder Roston Chase.

Brandon King, meanwhile, played the last of his 58 ODIs for the West Indies cricket team back in October 2025. While King remains a regular member in West Indies’ recent Test line-ups and T20I playing XIs, the cricketer was gradually sidelined from the 50-overs setup owing to his underwhelming record in the format.
He will be replacing John Campbell, who has aggregated just 60 runs so far against New Zealand in three innings of the series.
Shimron Hetmyer also recently returned to the national squad after playing 10 matches for the Seattle Orcas in the MLC 2026 season in the USA.
Khary Pierre will be returning home after playing the first three matches, and Shamar Springer remains absent from the squad following the death of his mother. Here is a look at the West Indies squad for the fourth and fifth ODIs of the series against New Zealand.

Roston Chase in recovery, Campbell set for scans
West Indies Test captain Roston Chase will continue his rehabilitation after suffering a laceration and contusion to his right index finger. The cricketer suffered the injury during the second Test of the series against Sri Lanka last month.
Campbell, on the other hand, hurt his left hamstring on Thursday, July 17. He is currently scheduled for scans by the CWI. During his presence in the series, the 32-year-old listed just 60 runs in three innings at an average of 30.
West Indies to face New Zealand in must-win final two ODIs
The West Indies cricket team, trailing 1-2 in the five-match ODI series, will now take on New Zealand in must-win final two games.
The fourth ODI will be hosted by the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Sunday, July 19, from 7:30 PM IST onwards. The fifth ODI will also be hosted at the same venue a couple of days later.
