On Sunday, August 23, India and Sri Lanka locked horns for the 2nd and final Test of the series. India batted first for the 2nd time in this series. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a duck in his last innings, got off to a positive start but failed to convert it into a big score.
Yashasvi Jaiswal threw his wicket away after scoring 45 (53) and even got into a massive fight with Sri Lanka bowler Asitha Fernando. It was a bad sight for cricket fans because the two professional cricketers got into a physical fight.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Involved In Physical Fight
The incident occurred on the last ball of the 17th over when Asitha Fernando bowled a peach of a delivery and uprooted Jaiswal’s off-stump. The Sri Lankan seamer was animated, knowing it was a big wicket.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was upset and started his walk towards the pavilion with his head hanging in shame. However, some words were exchanged from the Lankan side, most probably by Asitha Fernando, which resulted in Jaiswal getting angry and returning to confront the right-arm seamer.
The matter lit up in no seconds and the two players gave a headbutt to each other before rest of the squad separated the two and asked Jaiswal to go to the dressing room.
Gautam Gambhir's Reaction Goes Viral From Dressing Room
While Yashasvi Jaiswal got into the physical altercation, the camera panned to dressing room where India coach Gautam Gambhir looked visibly angry. The former India opener is an aggressive guy, who is known for his altercations during playing years.
The exact conversation is not known but Gautam Gambhir would certainly be pumped up to give it back to Sri Lanka players when India come to field in the 2nd innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's Sledging In 1st Test To Be Blamed?
For the unversed, Yashasvi Jaiswal had upset Sri Lanka squad in the 1st Test when he sledged Niroshan Dickwella. In the 1st Test, Jaiswal was standing at the square leg when he approached Dickwella and provoked him to take the aggressive route.
In reply, Niroshan Dickwella hit back at Jaiswal and told him to take him in the IPL. Jaiswal didn’t shy away and continued the sledging. He provoked Dickwella and told him to hit a six in the leg-side, and he will definitely take the Sri Lanka star in the IPL. It did wonders because in the very next delivery Dickwella got out.
It seems that Sri Lanka players had that incident at the back of their minds and waited for the perfect opportunity to hit back at the southpaw.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Fears ICC Punishment
Verbal altercations are common in cricket but things get difficult when physical altercation occurs. Now, at present, Yashasvi Jaiswal fears a strict punishment from ICC.
