Nahid Rana could not control his laugh on Wednesday (March 10) after watching Pakistan's top-order tumbled like a pack of cards against Bangladesh during the first ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. The 23-year-old, who was tipped to perform against the Shaheen Afridi-led side, wreaked havoc on a Mirpur pitch which did not behave as typically as it used to.
Rana was all over the place after Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. Shamyl Hussain was one of his victims, as the Bangladesh speedster tore apart to send Pakistan in tatters.

And the reaction he gave after getting rid of Shamyl Hussain, one of the four Pakistan debutants from today’s playing XI, went viral on social media.
It was a short of a length delivery by Nahid Rana, and Shamyl Hussain tried to swing the bat across the line. However, there was no timing at all from Shamyl Hussain, who had a catch dropped and was struggling to bat throughout his stay.

As a result, the ball did not go anywhere, and Litton Das took a simple catch with the big gloves to end his misery.
The Mirpur pitch, which is known for being dusty and spin-friendly for years, did not behave similarly on Wednesday. Instead, it helped the pacers with an extra bounce, and Nahid Rana took the full advantage of it.
Pakistan In Trouble Vs Bangladesh
Pakistan, led by Shaheen Afridi, could not have asked for a worse possible start in the three-match ODI series. First, they lost the toss, and then their batters failed like never before.
At the time of writing this, Pakistan are struggling in 72/6, with Nahid Rana taking five wickets to send the Men in Green in a bay. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz took the other wicket, of another debutant, Abdul Samad.
Along with Shamyl Hussain, Nahid Rana got the wickets of Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Rizwan and Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Agha.
Nahid Rana Bangladesh Career
So far, Nahid Rana has not played much for Bangladesh, despite being a constant threat to the opposition. He has only played 10 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 1 T20I for Bangladesh before taking the field on Wednesday.
In red-ball cricket, Rana has taken 27 wickets, while in ODIs and T20Is, he has scalped 5 and 2 wickets respectively.
With Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed bowling alongside him, Nahid Rana, now aged 23, could be Bangladesh’s pace trio for some time, at least in white-ball cricket. For Tests, he might still not be ready, although things could change quickly if he gets his problems fixed in a short period of time.
