In a shocking incident, experienced South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was caught smoking during the IPL 2026. Rabada is playing for the Gujarat Titans in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

Led by Shubman Gill, the Titans have blown hot and cold in the IPL 2026. They have lost three out of their first six matches, claiming the sixth position on the points table.

Talking about Kagiso Rabada, the South African pacer has bowled brilliantly, emerging as the go-to bowler for his team, especially in the powerplay.

The opponents have found it tough to get going against him, with Rabada dominating them with sheer pace and remarkable accuracy.

The speedster has bagged 10 wickets in six matches at a healthy strike rate of 13. However, amid his bowling heroics, Kagiso Rabada has landed in a controversy, with a video of him smoking a cigarette spreading like wildfire on social media.

Kagiso Rabada has been a match-winner with the ball for Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026.

As the fast bowler aims to shatter the record books with scorching spells, a clip of him passionately smoking a cigarette has embroiled Rabada in a major IPL controversy.

In the footage, Kagiso Rabada can be seen smoking in an open area, probably inside the team hotel.

He has been accompanied by several staff members of the Gujarat Titans. The video, recorded from the balcony upstairs, has caught the attention of millions who have been following the IPL.

Kagiso Rabada's infamous doping history

Despite being a gifted bowler, Kagiso Rabada has a forgettable past with doping incidents. The seasoned campaigner mysteriously vanished from the IPL 2025 mid-season after playing a solitary match.

Later, the Gujarat Titans revealed that they had released him from their squad, allowing the pacer to return to South Africa. Cricket South Africa, in an official press release, stated that Kagiso Rabada was found guilty of violating the anti-doping protocols.

He had used a banned drug for recreation during the SA20 2025, prompting the concerned authorities to impose a one-month ban on him.

So, given that Rabada has a history of drug abuse, the BCCI's anti-doping department might investigate the matter after the video went viral on social media.

Will Kagiso Rabada be banned from IPL 2026 by BCCI?

As Kagiso Rabada's smoking video goes viral on social media, fans are curious about whether he could be banned from the IPL 2026 by the BCCI for his actions.

It's worth noting that the cricketers can smoke cigarettes as there's no anti-smoking ban in their contracts. Although smoking can have an adverse impact on their health and fitness, it's not illegal by any means.

Having said that, Kagiso Rabada might be interrogated by the BCCI anti-doping department, as the agency would be interested to know the exact nature of the substance he inhaled.

In the worst possible scenario, if Rabada used a banned drug for recreational purposes, he could face serious sanctions for his action in the middle of the IPL 2026.
