Ishan Kishan got SRH off to a flier against the CSK in match number 63 of the IPL 2026 season. Batting at number three and arriving to the crease in just the third over of the run chase, Ishan started off cautiously before breaking the shackles with a huge six off CSK’s most successful bowler of the tournament, Anshul Kamboj.
The blistering left-hander also blazed the ‘Orange Army’ past the 100-run mark alongside fellow hard-hitting Heinrich Klaasen.
Notably, Kishan’s first six of the evening also damaged the big screen of the iconic Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Ishan Kishan arrived to the crease in the third over of the SRH innings after the early dismissal of opener Travis Head. The blistering left-hander started off cautiously by reaching 14* at run-a-ball with three cracking boundaries.

Taking on CSK’s in-form paceman Anshul Kamboj in the final over of the powerplay, the SRH stumper dispatched the speedster with a brutal pick-up shot miles over deep backward square leg. While Kishan fetched six runs with his clean hit, the cricketer also accidentally damaged a section of the Chepauk’s big screen.

A few overs later, Ishan Kishan dispatched Anshul Kamboj for another six, his second of the innings, this time over the midwicket region.

The SRH number three went on to slap a regal half-century from 37 balls, reaching the landmark figure with five boundaries and two huge sixes. The innings marked Kishan’s fifth half-century of the season, and the 22nd of his glittering IPL career.
The cricketer also motored closer towards the 500-run mark this season.
CSK vs SRH: Story so far…
A must-win game for the both sides at this stage of the IPL 2026 season, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bat first in Chennai. While captain Gaikwad himself charted a sluggish 15 off 21 balls, the hosts scored 180-7 in 20 overs.

Sanju Samson cracked a fiery 13-ball 27 at the top of the order, and number five Dewald Brevis top-scored in the innings with his 27-ball 44. Kartik Sharma at number four also made 32 from 19 balls with three boundaries and two huge sixes.
Shivam Dube, however, struggled to get going in the backend of the innings as the broad-shouldered all-rounder made just 26 off 23 deliveries.
For the SRH, captain and legendary Australian paceman Pat Cummins picked up impressive figures of 3-28, which included the prized scalps of both CSK openers. Sakib Hussain also chipped in with two wickets in his four-over spell.
In response, the SRH raced to 45-1 at the end of the opening powerplay, with Travis Head making his way back inside the third over for a run-a-ball six.
Apart from Ishan’s half-century, Heinrich Klaasen launched six boundaries and two huge sixes to score a swift 47 off 26 balls. At the time of publishing, SRH reached 143-3 in 16 overs, requiring another 38 runs from the remaining 24 deliveries.
