Harmanpreet Kaur blazed India Women towards a monumental total against Zimbabwe in the third T20I of their three-match series in Raipur. The senior batter scorched the turf against the Zimbabwe bowlers by pounding 91* electrifying runs from just 41 deliveries.
Her innings not only catapulted India Women to 216-7 in 20 overs, but it also marked her first notable performance with the bat since stepping down as national skipper. Needless to say, the aftermath of the innings was an emotional one for the cricketer, as she broke down in tears during the mid-innings break.
Harmanpreet Kaur gets teary-eyed after punishing Zimbabwe Women
While speaking with the commentators during the mid-innings break, India Women veteran Harmanpreet Kaur got teary-eyed as she described her performance.
The cricketer also thanked “Himanshu bhaiya” for assisting her, and dedicated her latest batting masterclass to him.
It is worth noting that the 37-year-old launched 10 cracking boundaries and five thunderous sixes to slap 91* off just 41 balls while batting at number four. Arriving to the crease at 68-2 in the eighth over, her innings catapulted the Indian total to 216-7 from 20 overs.
The innings marked her 19th half-century in T20I cricket, and her 20th score of 50 or more in the format.

At age 37, Harmanpreet Kaur wins it for India after leaving captaincy
Harmanpreet Kaur stepped down as Team India skipper earlier this month, doing so shortly after winning the 2026 Asian Games gold medal in Japan. Moreover, in the space of the last 12 months, the cricketer led her side to a historic 2025 World Cup win at home and the Asia Cup 2026 title in the UAE.
With Kaur relinquishing her captaincy responsibilities, the cricketer failed to get going against Zimbabwe in the series-opener in Raipur last week. The senior pro was dismissed for just a single before Deepti Sharma and Niki Prasad resurrected India’s sinking ship in the game.
In the following T20I, the former skipper was not required to bat as India Women cruised to a comfortable nine-wicket win.
Her 91-run unbeaten special in the third T20I marked Kaur’s first notable performance with the bat since becoming a regular India player. With her explosive unbeaten knock, Harmanpreet Kaur reminded everyone that even without any captaincy responsibility, her hunger to deliver for India remains stronger than ever.
