Not many can produce what Faf du Plessis has achieved at the age of 41 while playing a T20 game for the Texas Super Kings.
In the match between San Francisco Unicorns and the Super Kings at Oakland Coliseum in California, du Plessis produced a super athletic catch that stunned the whole stadium alongside the batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius.
Faf's inhuman catch gave Super Kings an instant edge in the match, which later proved to be costly for the Unicorns.
How Texas Super Kings Built The Pressure On The Unicorns
Coming into bat first, the Texas Super Kings had their skipper Faf du Plessis score a 24-ball 40 alongside Donovan Ferreira's 28-ball 45. These innings helped Super Kings post a comfortable total of 161 on the board before they ran out of balls with Adam Milne and Amshe de Silva at the crease.
As the San Francisco Unicorns came into the chase, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Finn Allen opened the innings for them, where the former met with a disastrous fate after Faf turned back the clock.

The Worldie Screamer From Faf du Plessis
On the first ball of the fifth over, as Amshe de Silva bowled a full delivery outside off stump in the slot, Pretorius dug the ball out and played it uppishly to mid-off.
Faf du Plessis, stationed at the same position, took a Superman-like catch as he flung himself to his right and plucked the ball out of the air with just one outstretched right hand.

As he grabbed the ball, he fell to the ground and then quickly rose up to celebrate and flash a smile for the wicket. Lhuan-dre Pretorius was shocked and bamboozled at the catch and almost tried to take a DRS review but later had to end in disappointment and was sent back to the pavilion.
The whole stadium was stunned as du Plessis pulled off the screamer at 41 years of age to reminisce about the athletic fielder he once was when he was younger.

Nevertheless, as Lhuan-dre Pretorius' wicket was lost early after Finn Allen's third-over dismissal, it triggered a collapse, and the San Francisco Unicorns lost six wickets inside 10 overs. They are currently in tough waters because of the steep run chase with fewer wickets in hand.
Now, MLC 2026 has got off to a pace already. With the Los Angeles Knight Riders leading the points table with two wins out of the two matches they have played, Texas Super Kings, meanwhile, have won only one match and would like to build on their winning potential as Faf du Plessis continues to lead from the front.
