We have often heard the saying that ‘age is just a number’, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is one such example that clearly proves this statement. It is still the early phase of IPL 2026, and the 15-year-old prodigy has already showcased his class in the 78-run knock against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Guwahati on April 10, 2026.
Chasing a daunting target of 202, the Rajasthan Royals were expected to face a difficult challenge. However, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's fearless approach turned the game on its head.
With this victory, Rajasthan Royals secured their fourth consecutive win and currently sit at the top of the IPL 2026 points table.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi claims 'Orange Cap' with fearless batting
With his match-winning innings against RCB, Sooryavanshi has moved ahead in the race for the Orange Cap. The young opener now has 200 runs in just four matches at an average of 50.00 and a strike-rate of 266.66.
Notably, he has made two half-centuries and both of these have come at a breathtaking pace, each off just 15 balls.

Sooryavanshi’s ability to dominate quality bowling at such a young age has made him one of the most talked-about players in recent times.
Dhruv Jurel anchors historic chase for RR
While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi provided the fireworks, Dhruv Jurel played the perfect supporting role with a brilliant unbeaten 81 off 43 balls at a strike-rate of 188.37. His composed innings ensured that the momentum created during the powerplay was sustained till the end.
Earlier in the match, RCB posted a strong total of 201/8, thanks largely to a captain's knock of 63 from Rajat Patidar. The team had struggled at 125/7 at one stage, but a late cameo from Venkatesh Iyer helped them cross the 200-run mark.
Despite the total, Rajasthan's batting lineup made the chase look comfortable, finishing the game with 12 balls to spare.

Beyond the runs and records, one moment that stood out after the match was a touching gesture from Virat Kohli for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. After the game, Sooryavanshi approached Virat Kohli for an autograph.
Virat Kohli signed Sooryavanshi's Rajasthan Royals cap and wrote a simple, meaningful message: "Dear Vaibhav, well done."
RR and RCB's journey in IPL 2026 so far
Rajasthan Royals is the unbeaten team in the tournament with four consecutive wins, while the Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit in third place with two wins from three matches.
It is important to note that RR, under the leadership of Riyan Parag, started the tournament on a high note, defeating Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets in the first match. In their second match, they faced the Gujarat Titans and defeated the team by 6 runs.
Then they faced the Mumbai Indians and defeated the Hardik Pandya-led team by 27 runs. In the fourth match, to continue their unbeaten streak, they defeated RCB by 6 wickets.
On the other hand, RCB lost the first match of the season against RR. The team started the IPL 2026 with a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets, followed by a commanding 43-run win against CSK.
The defending champions will next face the Mumbai Indians on April 12, 2026.
