Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been the darling of the whole cricketing fraternity since he blasted the world-beating bowlers in IPL 2026. The teenager has taken the world by storm by becoming the youngest Indian debutant. However, a former cricketer has put him on the same pedestal as Don Bradman.
The 15-year-old Sooryavanshi made his international debut in England, but his first grand performance came during the IND vs ZIM T20Is, where he bagged the Player of the Series award. He ended the series with 151 runs in three innings, including two half-centuries.
Robin Uthappa compares Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to Don Bradman
Since making a splash, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has garnered countless praises and is often compared to the best of the batters for possessing a tremendous amount of talent and prowess. However, former Indian batter Robin Uthappa has taken the praise one step further by comparing the prodigal batter to Sir Donald Bradman, who holds the unmatched Test average of 99.94.
Notably, throughout his career, Bradman was dismissed LBW (leg before wicket) on just four occasions. Uthappa has compared the youngster to the greatest batter on that particular measure.

It is worth mentioning that Sooryavanshi has been dismissed LBW just once throughout his IPL and international career.
"Vaibhav (Sooryavanshi) has a similar technique to (Sir Donald) Bradman, where he almost never got out LBW," Robin Uthappa stated on his YouTube Channel.
The chronicles of Don Bradman
Don Bradman is regarded as the best batter to have held the bat. Although he played his cricket in two countries, i.e. Australia and England, and against four different teams (India, West Indies, South Africa and England), he is regarded as the toughest batter to bowl against.
In his Test career, where he played 52 matches to slam 6996 runs at an unthinkable average, which could have been in triple digits if Bradman hadn't fallen for a duck in his final innings.
The Don was so special that England had to invent bodyline bowling, which was to attack the legendary Australian batter with short deliveries into his body. Despite that, he scored 396 runs at an average of 56.57, including one century and three half-centuries.
Technical similarities shouldn't fuel early comparisons
Although there are very few visuals of Donald Bradman's batting, he had a side-on stance with a unique open grip. While Sooryavanshi has a high backlift with an open stance, which enables him to get into the line of the ball very quickly and reduces the probability of getting trapped LBW.
Still, it is too early to compare Sooryavanshi to anyone as the youngster has just played two international series. And this comparison will only put more weight of expectation on him.
