Young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026. At just 15 years of age, the Rajasthan Royals batter has stunned the world with his fearless batting and mature performances. As a result, his growing success has started creating pressure on rival teams and players.

The youngster from Bihar has shown incredible consistency throughout the season. Moreover, he has already scored 579 runs in 13 matches with an outstanding strike rate of 236.32. His record includes one century and three half-centuries, while his highest score stands at 103.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s Remark On Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Ahead of the massive IPL 2026 clash between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, Yuzvendra Chahal made a statement that quickly grabbed attention on social media.

Punjab Kings currently depend heavily on the result of the Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals match. Notably, a Rajasthan Royals defeat would help Punjab Kings secure a playoff spot comfortably.

Consequently, Chahal jokingly said that he hoped Rohit Sharma would score a double century, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi would get out for a golden duck.

“We will be in Lucknow only. Hopefully, RR lose tomorrow and Rohit Sharma scores 200 directly, it's been a long time,” Yuzvendra Chahal said.

The comment was made in a humorous manner during a post-match interaction on JioHotstar. Even then, many fans felt that the statement reflected how dangerous and influential Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become this season.

Punjab Kings Stay Alive In Playoff Race

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings kept their playoff hopes alive after a brilliant seven-wicket victory over LSG. Punjab chased down 197 runs in only 18 overs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Captain Shreyas Iyer played a stunning unbeaten knock of 101 runs from 51 balls. Along with him, Prabhsimran Singh made a valuable contribution as the pair added a match-winning 140-run partnership.

The victory came at the perfect time for Punjab Kings. Earlier in the tournament, the side had won six of their opening seven games. After that, they suffered six consecutive defeats, which pushed them close to elimination.

According to spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, the team worked hard to maintain belief and unity during the difficult phase. Chahal explained that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive throughout the losing streak.

Furthermore, the players continued focusing on improvement in practice sessions instead of thinking negatively.

“When you win six of your first seven matches and then go on to lose the next six, after a point, there's nothing left to say. How you keep the team together and the environment close-knit becomes key. So, there were never any negative thoughts, ” Chahal said.

Rajgeeta’s Take On The Situation (Conclusion)

The rise of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi truly feels like a fairy tale. At an age when most teenagers focus on school cricket, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is dominating some of the best bowlers in the world.

At the same time, success often attracts jealousy and pressure. Therefore, it is understandable if rival teams feel worried about his performances. Even so, wishing failure upon a young player who is giving everything for his team does not appear right.
