Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become the darling of the whole cricketing fraternity for his wonders in the IPL 2026. Recently, the 15-year-old opener blasted a 29-ball 97 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator bout on Wednesday.
The teenager has been praised from every corner of the world, including Pakistan. However, he has also found himself in the middle of controversy.
Sooryavanshi has taken to his social media to warn his fans of scam accounts impersonating the 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener.
Sooryavanshi warns fans of scam social media account
While speaking on his official X handle, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi warned his fans of scam accounts impersonating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener on social media. He mentioned a specific X account that has been active since the start of the season and has been posting some derogatory content.
Recently, the scam account posted an AI-generated image of Sooryavanshi grinding oranges, a poke at SRH, who wear orange, after RR's victory over the 2016 champions. Moreover, the account also reposted a tweet by Yuvraj Singh and referred to him as "Uncle".
To put all arguments to rest, the 15-year-old posted about the scam account and asked his fans to report it.
"Hello fam. I’ve been receiving a lot of messages about fake accounts impersonating me on X. I want to confirm that this is my original and only account. Please avoid engaging with any other profiles claiming to be me & do report them. Report this account @VaibhavSV12," Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said on his social media.

Sooryavanshi acing the league of big boys
Recently, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was on the verge of making history by smashing the fastest IPL century. Alas, he went down attacking and was dismissed on 97 after facing 29 balls.
If he had not edged the ball he was dismissed on, it would have gone for a maximum, helping him reach the massive milestone on his 29th ball, that too in the all-important Eliminator clash against SRH in New Chandigarh.
Currently, the 15-year-old boy is leading in the race for the Orange Cap, notching 680 runs in 15 innings at an unbelievable strike rate of 243. Moreover, the youngster also broke Chris Gayle's record of most sixes in an IPL season.
What's next for Rajasthan Royals, Sooryavanshi?
Thanks to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's berserk knock against SRH, alongside Jofra Archer's fiery bowling, the Rajasthan Royals have entered Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2026.
The inaugural champions will take on the Gujarat Titans in New Chandigarh on Friday, where the second finalist will be decided.
In the league stage, RR and GT have met twice, with each team winning once. However, the knockout will bring a whole different challenge to the roster.
Take by the writer
Although Vaibhav Sooryavanshi deleted the X post within minutes, a young cricketer shouldn’t waste his energy on trolls or impersonators. At this tender age, the young prodigy should only be concentrating on his batting.
Credit should be given to Sooryavanshi’s close ones and RR’s team manager, Romi Bhinder, for forming a thick wall between him and the glamorous world.
