The IPL fever is back, with all franchises looking at possible trades that can happen before the 2027. Among them, the speculated Hardik Pandya trade is the most talked-about.
Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat ahead of IPL 2024 and was made captain of the franchise. However, the extravagant move wasn't fruitful at all for the five-time champions, as it created more fuss than anything else.
Meanwhile, Mumbai's star batter Suryakumar Yadav could leave the five-time champions.
Suryakumar Yadav could get traded to become LSG's captain
According to Sports Tak's Rahul Rawat, Suryakumar Yadav is looking at his options ahead of the IPL 2027 mini auctions. He might leave the franchise to become Lucknow's captain.
A scenario could develop in the Mumbai Indians camp in which the celebrated Indian batter leaves the franchise to be traded to Lucknow Super Giants, apparently if Hardik Pandya doesn’t leave MI.
“If Hardik Pandya doesn’t get traded, then there is a possibility that Suryakumar Yadav may leave Mumbai Indians and get traded to become Lucknow’s captain,” the Sports Tak journalist revealed in a YouTube video.
Notably, after Rishabh Pant’s trade to Delhi, the LSG are left with their captaincy vacant. Thus, Suryakumar's expertise as a T20 World Cup-winning captain could be a great fit for the Super Giants, who are still hunting their maiden IPL trophy.
All IPL trades, along with announcements regarding player retentions and releases, must be completed by November 15, with the IPL 2027 mini-auction set to be held on December 15 in Goa.
