When I got left out from World Cup one-day cricket for a year, after scoring 10,000 runs, I found my way to come back. The fast bowler suffered a major setback after the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he took 24 wickets in only seven matches. An ankle injury forced him to undergo surgery and kept him out of action for a long period.Another factor that might have worked against him is his likely strained relationship with the BCCI selectors.The ace pacer has not played for India since the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final; however, he has not lost his effectiveness. During the Ranji Trophy 2025-26, he claimed 37 wickets in 13 innings at an economy rate of 2.69.He also picked up 15 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
