The experienced fast bowler has enjoyed a prolific run with RCB in IPL 2026 and has performed well in the recently concluded UPT20 League 2026. In the UPT20, Bhuvneshwar took 13 wickets in 10 innings at an impressive economy rate of 5.88. Playing for RCB in IPL 2026, he has picked up 28 wickets in 16 innings at an economy rate of 7.95.However, despite his recent impressive form, he has not been included in the India-A ODI squad. With Indian management and BCCI selectors searching for young players, there are high chances that the ace pacer from Meerut might not book a spot for the 50-over World Cup. Mohammed ShamiUnlike Bhuvneshwar, Mohammed Shami was still part of India's ODI setup recently and played an important role in the team’s 2025 Champions Trophy win.His last international appearance came in the Champions Trophy final. Since then, however, he has remained outside the Indian setup.At 36, Shami might be entering the latter stages of his career, but his recent domestic performances have been impressive. During the Ranji Trophy 2025-26, Shami picked up 37 wickets in 13 innings at an excellent economy rate of 2.69. In the Duleep Trophy 2026, he bagged seven wickets in five innings at an economy rate of just 3.00.Shami scalped 15 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, showcasing his readiness to play 50-over format again for the Indian team. In IPL 2026, he took 14 wickets in 15 innings at an economy rate of 8.42.With the bat, he has scored 226 runs in nine innings, at an average of 37.67. He has also developed his bowling recently, varying his pace, and using wily variations, including short deliveries, effectively.However, his recent form has not earned him a place in the India-A One-Day squad. Instead, the selectors have included Nishant Sindhu, along with other all-round options such as Vipraj Nigam and Arshin Kulkarni. Therefore, although Krunal has performed with bat and ball, India's persistence with Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, along with the emergence of younger all-rounders like Nishant and Vipraj, has shut the door on him ahead of the World Cup 2027.
