It's finally time for the India's last and must-win Super 8 match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The match will be played at Eden Gardens against the West Indies on March 1, 2026.
Under the leadership of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly, a special two-and-a-half-minute entertainment segment has been planned to energise both the players and the crowd at the famous stadium.
The idea is simple: create an unforgettable atmosphere that motivates Team India in a high-pressure encounter against the West Indies as they seek a place in the semifinal.
Special Show at Eden Gardens for IND vs WI Super 8 Clash
According to reports from RevSportz, the second innings break between the IND vs WI match will feature a laser show synced to the patriotic track 'Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani.'
The stadium will also play a Bengali patriotic song and a track from the upcoming film Dhurandhar.
However, the highlight of the evening is expected to be the 'Vande Mataram' moment. The stadium DJ will call out 'Vande,' and all fans at the stadium will respond with 'Mataram' in unison, lighting up the stands with their mobile flashlights.
These special gestures from CAB and Sourav Ganguly can motivate the Suryakuamr-Led Indian team and inspire them to bring forward their ‘A’ game.
Sourav Ganguly talks about India-West Indies clash
Sourav Ganguly has described the match as a ‘50-50’ contest, warning that the West Indies have powerful hitters who can change the game in a few overs.
"You can’t just say India are ahead because the West Indies have several good power-hitters. If even one or two of them click, they can take the game away. India will have to play their best cricket."

He especially highlighted the importance of Jasprit Bumrah, calling him India’s most crucial bowler. According to Ganguly, Bumrah’s ability to deliver under pressure could make the difference in such a crucial match.
“Jasprit Bumrah is going to be the key,” he declared. “He is India’s best bowler.” Emphasising his irreplaceable value to the squad in such high-stakes environments, he added: “He will be a key factor at Eden Gardens. He can be the difference-maker, but the match overall remains 50-50, and you can’t definitively predict a favourite due to the West Indies’ power-hitters.”

It is important to mention that whenever India plays at Eden Gardens, the city celebrates like a festival. This time is no different; tickets were sold out quickly after it became clear that the clash against the West Indies was a virtual quarter-final.
With the political situation in West Bengal intensifying ahead of the Assembly elections, special security and police arrangements have been put in place for the much-awaited India-West Indies clash.
