Speaking to RevSportz Global, Shubman Gill said the Indian team is confident heading into the ODI series and believes the T20I results will have no impact on the upcoming matches. He further explained that the T20I and ODI squads are largely different, meaning there will be no negative carryover into the 50-over format.
“I don’t think there will be any impact of the T20 series on this one. This is a different format and the team knows what it has to achieve. Different format, different atmosphere,” Shubman Gill shared at the pre-match press conference as quoted by RevSportz Global.
With a different format and a fresh atmosphere, Gill expressed confidence in India's ability to challenge England in their own backyard.
He concluded by suggesting that the T20I team, led by Shreyas Iyer, would have to reflect on its performances, with the BCCI also expected to closely review the disappointing campaign.

How did Indian players perform in the T20I series vs England?
Speaking of performances, Shreyas Iyer finished as India's highest run-scorer in the series with 218 runs at an average of 54.50. He was followed by Abhishek Sharma, who scored 131 runs at an average of 26.20.
Wonderkid Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to impress, managing only 42 runs from the three opportunities he was given. The bowlers also struggled, with Harshit Rana being the only Indian to pick up three wickets across his three appearances.
Despite high expectations, India failed to deliver in both the England and Ireland T20I series. However, the Men in Blue will now pin their hopes on a revamped ODI squad.
Why Gill is confident with India's ODI squad?
Hope burns bright for the ODI team, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returning to provide experience and stability. The two veteran batters will take on England armed with vast experience in English conditions and impressive records against the opposition.
Meanwhile, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh are also expected to return to the playing XI, provided there are no injury or workload concerns.
With a fresh format and a renewed approach, the Gautam Gambhir-led side will aim to begin a winning run after a disappointing T20I campaign.
