Litton Das, who was named Bangladesh’s captain for the T20 World Cup 2026, did not find any takers in the PSL auction on Wednesday (February 11). The 31-year-old, who played for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan-based T20 league, went unsold after he was up for grabs for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Litton had a base price of PKR 11 million, which was approximately 48 lakh in Bangladesh’s currency (Taka). However, despite the recent fruitful relationship between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the main man of Bangladesh got no team to have when it mattered the most.

List of Bangladesh players in PSL auction

50 Bangladesh players in PSL auction; Rishad Hossain joins Rawalpindi

As many as 50 Bangladesh players registered themselves for the PSL auction, of which, as mentioned above, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Zakir Hasan were in the elite category. The list also included notable names like Najmul Hossain Shanto, Taskin Ahmed, Towhid Hridoy among others.

Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain, who made headlines in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Hobart Hurricanes, joined the Rawalpindi-based franchise for PKR 3 crore. Rishad had a base price the same as Litton before Rawalpindi won the last laugh after fighting hard with Karachi.

Mustafizur to play alongside Shaheen; Shakib unsold

Notably, Mustafizur Rahman, who was kicked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after signing a lucrative INR 9.2 crore contract, provided by KKR, was joined by Lahore Qalandars before the auction began. The left-arm seamer joined the forces through direct signing, as he will play with a stacked attack, comprising Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Usama Mir.

In other big news, Shakib Al Hasan also remained unsold. The veteran Bangladesh all-rounder could not get a single bid after his name came out loud for grabs during the initial round of the auction process.

It is important to note that PSL teams can buy both Shakib and Litton in the later part of the auction if they find it necessary to include them in their squad.
