Shoaib Malik and Rajeev Shukla [Source: @Ashsay_/x]
Shoaib Malik has shared an AI-edited video of BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla. In the video, Shukla can be seen claiming that it was the BCCI that ârequestedâ the ICC to convince the PCB in allowing the Pakistan team to play against India at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
It is worth noting that earlier this month, the Pakistan government prohibited the Pakistan team from facing arch-rivals India at the showpiece event on political grounds. However, the PCB has now allowed the match to go ahead as scheduled after facing repeated threats from the ICC, as well as from SLC at one stage.
As one can expect, Shoaib Malik sharing an AI-generated video on the Pakistani sports show âHar Lamha Purjoshâ sparked a wave of some hilarious social media reactions.
Indian fans troll Shoaib Malik and Pakistan for rejoicing over AI video
The PCB and the Pakistan government recently reversed their boycott stand against India at the ICC Menâs T20 World Cup. One of the narratives being pushed by Pakistan fans and some cricket experts on social media is that the PCB forced the BCCI and the ICC to bow down and talk for peace, a claim that has only intensified the online back-and-forth between supporters of the two nations.
Former captain Shoaib Malik even unknowingly, or knowingly, shared an AI-edited clip of Rajeev Shukla where the latter can be seen saying that it was BCCI that requested the ICC to mediate talks with the PCB.
Indian cricket fans took note of the video on the Pakistani sports show âHar Lamha Purjoshâ, and are trolling Shoaib Malik and Pakistan in general for their perceived âhappinessâ and âdelusionâ over the subject. Here is a look at some of the fans reacting to Malikâs video.

Rajeev Shukla issues clarification, debunks Shoaib Malik
Shortly after the AI-video went viral, Rajeev Shukla himself debunked Pakistanâs narrative and Shoaib Malikâs claims that it was the BCCI that urged peace talks between the ICC and the PCB. While Shukla did express his delight and praised the ICC while speaking with the reporters, he never once mentioned BCCIâs role and alleged hand in the matter.
Taking to X, the BCCI vice-president said, âA video of my remarks on the India Pakistan World Cup match has been manipulated using AI to alter the audio. These statements are not mine. I urge everyone not to believe or circulate this misleading content and to report it wherever such videos are seen.â
Why did PCB reverse Pakistanâs boycott stand against India?
After prohibiting the Pakistan team from facing India at the 2026 ICC Menâs T20 World Cup, the PCB received repeated warnings from the ICC. Moreover, even a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) official wrote to the PCB and explained them about facing financial consequences, considering the blockbuster India vs Pakistan had already sold out its tickets in Colombo.
A few days ago, an ICC team visited Pakistan and held a meeting with several PCB as well as BCB officials. As of now, the India vs Pakistan is scheduled to go ahead as planned on February 15.
