In a significant development, RCB began their pre-season preparations for IPL 2026 on February 10 in Navi Mumbai, with several players and members of the coaching staff in attendance. However, one notable absence quickly grabbed attention as left-arm pacer Yash Dayal was nowhere to be seen.

RCB’s official social media handles shared multiple updates from their training base, believed to be the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Players such as Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Rasikh Salam, Suyash Sharma and others were spotted taking part in drills, fitness routines and net sessions.

But despite being retained for IPL 2026, Yash Dayal has not joined the camp. His absence comes at a time when he has not played any competitive cricket since the end of IPL 2025 in June. The primary reason behind his continued absence from the field is the serious legal trouble he is currently facing.

Legal troubles keep Yash Dayal away from cricket

Yash Dayal’s name surfaced in a major controversy in July 2025 after a multiple FIR was registered against him at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur. The complaint alleges that the cricketer repeatedly sexually assaulted a minor girl in 2023.

According to the FIR, the survivor was 17 years old at the time of the first alleged incident. The complaint further claims that Dayal assaulted her again in 2025 at a hotel in Jaipur. The allegations have made the case extremely serious and sensitive.

The FIR has been registered under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which carries a minimum punishment of 10 years in prison. Provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have also been applied.

The matter came to light just weeks after another rape complaint was filed against him in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman accused him of exploitation. Since these cases surfaced, Dayal has stayed away from competitive cricket.

Yash Dayal recently seen practicing for RCB return

Interestingly, recent visuals in his social media handles suggest that Yash Dayal was recently seen training on his own. This has led to speculation that the pacer is trying to stay match-fit in case he makes a case to return to the field for RCB in IPL 2026.

However, the seriousness of the allegations continues to cast a shadow over his career. With multiple cases registered and strict legal scrutiny in place, his immediate cricketing future remains uncertain.

While RCB have not issued any official statement regarding his absence from the Navi Mumbai camp, it is evident that the franchise has moved ahead with preparations without him for the time being.

Court relief for Dayal, yet no sign of official RCB comeback

In a major development, the Rajasthan High Court recently granted interim relief to Yash Dayal while hearing his anticipatory bail plea. A single bench of Justice Ganesh Ram Meena ordered a temporary stay on his arrest, offering temporary protection from immediate police action amid the ongoing investigation.

However, the court made it clear that the relief is not final and comes with strict conditions. Dayal has been asked to cooperate fully with investigators and appear whenever required. However, there are still no signs of him returning to competitive cricket, especially after missing RCB’s pre-season camp ahead of IPL 2026.
