West Indies will take on England in the match 15 of the T20 World Cup 2026. The match will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, February 11. The game will go live for fans at 7:00 PM IST.

West Indies vs England Preview

West Indies come into the match brimming with confidence after a dominant all-round win over Scotland in their opener. Strong performances with both bat and ball set the tone, and they will be keen to push for a second straight victory in T20 World Cup 2026.

England, meanwhile, were made to work hard in their opening game against Nepal, surviving a late scare. While they secured the win, they will be eager for a far more convincing performance as they look to go two from two and go at the top of Group C.

Top Order: Brandon King, Shai Hope (c and wk) and Shimron Hetmyer

West Indies are expected to persist with Brandon King and skipper Shai Hope at the top against England, a combination that brings both aggression and assurance in the powerplay. The duo has shown promise, providing solid starts while allowing the middle-order freedom to play their natural game.

Shimron Hetmyer will continue at No. 3, a role he has excelled in since the start of the year. Fresh off a match-winning 64 off 36 against Scotland, he has two fifties in his last three innings, but will be eager to improve his modest T20I record against England, averaging 7.9 with the bat.

Middle-Order and All-Rounders: Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd and Roston Chase

Rovman Powell will spearhead the middle-order at No. 4 following Shimron Hetmyer’s shift to three. Powell boasts an exceptional record against England, leading West Indies’ T20I run charts with 622 runs at an average of 44.42 and a strike rate of 167.20, including three fifties and a century.

Sherfane Rutherford slots in next, bringing blistering form and clean-hitting ability to the middle-order. His recent performances underline his growing maturity and power, making him a key enforcer alongside the all-round presence of Romario Shepherd, who adds depth and more power to the batting lineup.

Romario Shepherd arrives fresh from a sensational five-wicket haul against Scotland, including a hat-trick, and will look to maintain that momentum with both bat and ball. Roston Chase, who missed the previous game, is expected to return to counter England’s left-hand-heavy batting and provide an anchoring option with the bat if required.

Bowlers: Jason Holder, Shamar Joseph, Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie

Jason Holder will headline the pace attack, bringing experience and consistency to the bowling unit. Since 2025, he has been West Indies’ leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 35 scalps. Shamar Joseph will complement him as a middle-overs enforcer, using raw pace and sharp execution at the death.

Akeal Hosein will lead the spin department, offering control and reliability with his left-arm orthodox bowling. He enjoys a strong record against England, with 23 T20I wickets at an economy of 7.58. Gudakesh Motie will provide additional control and variation through his subtle left-arm spin.
