Rajasthan Royals get new owners amid IPL 2026
Indian businessman Lakshmi N. Mittal and his son Aditya Mittal, along with Adar Poonawalla have now acquired ownership of the Rajasthan Royals franchise. The group acquired stakes in the franchise with a staggering bid of USD 1.65 billion (approximately Rs 15,600 crore).

Earlier, Kal Somani-led consortium came extremely close in acquiring ownership of the franchise before running into several hurdles.
Sri Lanka to tour West Indies in 2026
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that the Sri Lanka team will be touring West Indies for a full bilateral series in June and July. As per the schedule, the two teams will be squaring off to play a series of three ODIs, three T20Is and two Test matches between June 3 and July 7.
The tour will mark Sri Lanka’s first trip to the Caribbean since 2021, where their Test series ended in a draw and the hosts seized the ODI series.
KKR’s Sunil Narine becomes third bowler to complete 200 IPL wickets
KKR icon Sunil Narine picked up the important wickets of Salil Arora and Ishan Kishan during KKR’s all-important IPL 2026 match against the SRH franchise. Narine’s match-winning spell also helped him complete 200 wickets in his IPL career, thus becoming only the second spinner and the third bowler overall to scale the landmark figure in the tournament.
He is currently sitting on a pile of 201 wickets in 195 innings at an average of 25.53 and an economy of 6.79.
Babar Azam levels with Fakhar Zaman for huge PSL record after final duck
Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam was dismissed for a first-ball duck by Mohammad Ali in the final of the PSL 2026 season. With his dismissal, the legendary opening batter failed to add to his 588-run tally in the tournament.
In doing so, Babar levelled up with national teammate Fakhar Zaman for the all-time record of scoring the joint-highest number of runs in a single PSL season.
Nat Sciver-Brunt ruled out of New Zealand ODIs
England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of her team’s upcoming home ODI series against the New Zealand team. With the England team beginning its preparations for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Nat has been struggling with a calf injury.
Even though the injury is only minor in nature, the ECB has decided to exclude the legendary all-rounder as a “precautionary measure”.
