The excitement around the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is growing rapidly as fans and franchises gear up for a historic first-ever PSL 2026 player auction, scheduled for February 11. 

With big-name direct signings already confirmed and team retentions finalised, PSL 11 is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling editions in the league's history.

Several marquee international players have already joined the league through direct signings. Steve Smith will represent the newly formed Sialkot Stallionz, while England all-rounder Moeen Ali has signed with Karachi Kings. New Zealand batter Devon Conway will play for Islamabad United.

According to the PCB, the auction will follow a structured bidding system. Each PSL squad must include a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 20 players. Teams are allowed between five and seven overseas players in their squads, but only three or four overseas players can be part of the playing XI.

In addition, franchises must include at least two under-23 players in their squads, with at least one under-23 player required in the playing XI for every match.

Peshawar Zalmi have already announced their retained players. Team captain Babar Azam has been retained in the Platinum category, Sufiyan Muqeem in the Diamond category, Abdul Samad in the Gold category, and Ali Raza in the Emerging category. 

All other franchises, including new teams Hyderabad and Sialkot Stallionz, have also confirmed their retentions.

In a major off-field development, Multan Sultans have been sold to Walee Technologies for PKR 245 crore.

Notably, eight teams will participate in the PSL 2026 auction, with two new franchises added, and six teams are taking part from the previous editions.
