Babar Azam remains one of the most exciting players in Pakistan cricket. At present, he is in excellent form during the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026). In one remarkable match for Peshawar Zalmi, he delivered an outstanding innings. The Pakistan star scored an unbeaten 100 runs in just 52 balls, maintaining an impressive strike rate of 192.31.

During this innings against Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi, he hit 6 fours and 4 sixes. As a result, his performance stood out as one of his finest in T20 cricket. In addition, this century turned into his fastest hundred in PSL history.

Babar Azam achieved huge milestone in PSL

Along with this achievement, Babar Azam reached an important milestone. He equalled the record for most centuries in PSL among Pakistani batters, joining Usman Khan. 

Furthermore, experienced players like Kamran Akmal and Rilee Rossouw also had three centuries each in the league.

However, this record did not remain unchanged for long. Soon after, a new chapter was written in the tournament.

Usman Khan goes past Babar Azam

On April 22, Usman Khan delivered a historic performance that changed the record books. Representing Hyderabad Kingsmen, he played a match-winning innings against Multan Sultans.

Batting first, Multan Sultans posted a huge total of 213/7. Steven Smith played a brilliant knock of 101 runs from 47 balls, hitting 11 fours and 6 sixes. Meanwhile, Sahibzada Farhan added a smooth 50 runs. Together, they built a strong 100-run opening partnership. As the innings progressed, the team continued to score quickly and crossed 200 in the 19th over.

In response, Hyderabad Kingsmen had a difficult start. They lost three wickets early in the powerplay. Even so, Usman Khan changed the course of the match with an aggressive innings. He reached his half-century in only 20 balls, showing complete control over the bowlers.

At the same time, Marnus Labuschagne supported him with a steady 51 runs. The two players built a crucial 100-run partnership, which shifted the momentum towards Hyderabad. Usman continued his attacking style and scored 101 runs off 47 balls, including 10 sixes and 5 fours.

With this century, Usman Khan became the first player in PSL history to score four centuries. As a result, he moved ahead of Babar Azam, Kamran Akmal, and Rilee Rossouw, who each have three centuries.

Most centuries in PSL: Usman Khan tops the list

  • Usman Khan – four in 33 innings
  • Kamran Akmal – three in 74 innings
  • Rilee Rossouw – three in 97 innings
  • Babar Azam – three in 106 innings

In addition, Usman also holds the record for the fastest century in PSL, which came in just 36 balls against Quetta Gladiators. Moreover, he was part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad, where he scored a total of 60 runs, along with an impressive 44 runs against arch-rivals India.

Despite early trouble, Hyderabad Kingsmen successfully chased the target in 18.3 overs and secured a memorable 4-wicket win. With this victory, they moved to fourth place on the points table, with 4 wins and 4 losses.

Looking ahead, Hyderabad Kingsmen are set to face Islamabad United in their next match on April 24.
