The Mohsin Naqvi-led Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Pakistan Women’s squad for their upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in three ODIs and as many T20Is between July 23 and August 4.

The PCB selection committee made some radical changes in the line-up that recently played the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England. One of the major changes in the squad involves captain and star all-rounder Fatima Sana.

Fatima Sana to lead as PCB makes four changes in ODI squad

The PCB made four changes to the Pakistan Women’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. Players like Diana Baig, Natalia Parvaiz, Aliya Riaz and Rameen Shamim have all been excluded from the national line-up for the 50-overs leg of the tour.

It is worth noting that the aforementioned four cricketers were included in Pakistan Women’s squad for a three-match home ODI series against Zimbabwe.

The PCB selection committee called up Maham Anees, Saira Jabeen, Umm-e-Hani and Waheeda Akhter as replacements for the four excluded cricketers.

While Maham Anees received her maiden international call-up, Saira Jabeen will also be making her ODI debut if she receives an opportunity in the Pakistan XI at some stage of the tour.

Ace spinner Umm-e-Hani will be making her return to Pakistan’s ODI set-up after over four months, and Waheeda Akhtar is primed to receive her first international cap after nearly a year.

Star all-rounder Fatima Sana will continue to lead the ‘Women in Green’ in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Here is a look at Pakistan’s entire squad for the three-match 50-over series.

Fatima Sana to miss SL T20Is, PCB makes 8 changes after T20 World Cup 2026 disaster

Pakistan’s T20I group observed even more radical amendments, considering as many as eight changes were made by the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB in a bid to set their sights on the 2028 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Moreover, regular captain Fatima Sana was also replaced by wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali as interim skipper of the team. While Fatima has been excluded from the T20I squad, Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 players like Rameem Shamim, Iram Javed, Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Sadia Iqbal, Gull Feroza and Natalia Pervaiz also failed to find a place in Pakistan's travelling party.

Why is Fatima Sana not included in Pakistan’s T20I squad

Fatima Sana is not included in Pakistan Women’s squad for the T20I series vs Sri Lanka since she will be unavailable for the 20-over leg of the tour. The young all-rounder is schedule to feature in Women’s The Hundred 2026 season in England after she was roped in by the Birmingham Phoenix franchise.
