Afghanistan are set to host India in a historic T20I series at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium later in September. The two powerhouses from Asia will be at loggerheads in three T20I matches, from September 13 to 17.
Although this series was not originally part of the FTP, the ACB and the BCCI mutually agreed to squeeze the three-match series into their busy calendars, strengthening the cricketing ties between the two boards and, more importantly, the two Asian countries.
It is worth noting that ACB is the host for the T20I series, despite the series being played in India's national capital city.
ACB hires Pakistan company for T20Is vs India
At the time of growing ties between Afghanistan and India, the ACB has signed up a Pakistan-based company, TransGroup, as a partner of the upcoming T20I series against India.
"TG (TransGroup) will serve as ACB’s Global Media Rights Syndication Partner, TPT360 as the Media Production Partner, and FanCode as the Official Streaming Partner for the series in the Indian territory," ACB said in a press-release.

The TransGroup is famously known for partnering with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to handle its international media rights and major broadcast events across Asia and the Middle East.
Moreover, the company has been working with the Pakistan board to broadcast the lucrative Pakistan Super League (PSL) since its inception.
Both Afghanistan, Indian players clashing with Pakistan on-field
In the recent times, India and Afghanistan's relations have grown leaps and bounds, with both teams having a common nemesis in Pakistan.
Notably, both countries have geopolitical differences with Pakistan, which have been clearly translated on the cricketing field.
Indian and Pakistani cricketers clashing on the field has been a common occurrence, such as India’s current head coach Gautam Gambhir’s saga with Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi, or the famous episode between Javed Miandad and Kiran More.
However, Afghanistani players getting into a loggerhead with the Men in Green is the talk of the town. During the 2022 Asia Cup, pacer Fareed Malik had an altercation with Pakistan’s Asif Ali.
Last time when Afghanistan, India toured Pakistan
In late 2025, after three Afghan domestic cricketers were killed alongside other civilians by Pakistani forces during the cross-border war, the ACB pulled out of the T20 tri-series involving the Men in Green. The two nations haven't played a bilateral against each other since then.
That said, Afghanistan have never toured Pakistan for a men's international series, but they have visited the UAE to play against the arch-rivals.
Meanwhile, the Men in Blue last toured Pakistan for the 2008 Asia Cup, and their last bilateral series was in 2012-13, when they hosted the neighbours.
Notably, both Afghanistan and India play against Pakistan only in ICC or ACC events.
