Pakistan and Sri Lanka are set to play their final match of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

The Pakistan vs Sri Lanka match will take place on Saturday, February 28, at 7 PM IST, with both teams fighting for one last shot at semi-final qualification.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Preview Match 50, Super 8

Both teams belong to Super 8 Group 2 alongside England and New Zealand, and this will be their final group match as they hope to keep their qualification chances alive.

Pakistan have lost one match, while another was abandoned due to rain, leaving them with just one point after two games. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are out of the tournament after suffering two consecutive losses and currently sit on zero points. With only one game left, they cannot possibly reach the semi-final mark.

Nevertheless, Pakistan still have a fair chance, depending heavily on permutations and combinations, including the result of the England vs New Zealand match. If the Men in Green want to progress with strong numbers, they will need to win by a big margin against Sri Lanka.

Conclusion

In overall head-to-head encounters in T20Is, Pakistan has the upper hand with 17 wins from 29 matches. With big names and players in form, the Men in Green are likely to dominate Sri Lanka, even though the hosts have the advantage of playing at their home ground with strong crowd support.

The familiarity with the pitch might help Sri Lanka, yet Pakistan's hunger for a win and their final push for a semi-final spot could overpower Sri Lanka in what can be called a dead rubber fixture.
