The match was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, April 11.Notably, CSK finally secured their first win of the IPL 2026 season after losing three matches in a row. They defeated Delhi Capitals by 23 runs in an exciting contest. CSK posted a strong total of 212/2, mainly due to a brilliant century by Sanju Samson. After that, Delhi Capitals tried to chase the target, however they were bowled out for 189. This was largely due to an impressive bowling performance by Jamie Overton, who took four wickets.Nitish Rana fined by BCCINitish Rana faced punishment for his behavior during the match. He was fined 25% of his match fees and also received one demerit point. This action was taken after he used inappropriate language on the field. The situation started when his teammate Tristan Stubbs requested to change his gloves in the 19th over. He mentioned discomfort due to humid conditions, as the gloves had become wet and difficult to use. However, the umpires denied this request in order to avoid delays in the game.As a result, tension increased. Nitish Rana, who was not part of the playing eleven and was listed as an impact substitute, got involved in an argument with the fourth umpire. During this moment, the Delhi batter used abusive language out of frustration.Following the incident, the BCCI reviewed the matter. Notably, Nitish Rana was found guilty of breaking Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Specifically, he violated Article 2.3, which relates to the use of offensive language during a match. It is important to note that the 32-year-old batter accepted his mistake and agreed to the punishment given by the match referee. Therefore, the fine and demerit point were officially applied. Also Read: "Ruturaj Gaikwad Is Babar Azam Of India": Fans Rip Apart CSK Captain After Slow KnockRuturaj Gaikwad slapped with hefty fineMeanwhile, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was also penalized, although for a different reason.
