In a significant development, star seamer Mohsin Khan is all set to enter the auction for UP T20 League season 4. The left-arm seamer has confirmed that he won’t play for Kanpur Superstars, a team that he represented for two years.
Notably, the 4th edition of UP T20 League will begin in August, and the auction is set to take place in mid-July. Meanwhile, the left-arm seamer has requested his team to release him so that he can explore more options.
Mohsin Khan Wants To Explore More Options
Mohsin Khan confirmed that he has had his fair share of injuries, which have ruled him out of action for a long time. But now, he is ft and want to look at new opportunities in the UP T20 League, which could be a gateway for his IPL retention as well.
“This year, I will go for the auction. I want to explore and go with the flow. I am fit for action,” Mohsin Khan told the Times of India.

Notably, Mohsin was a key part of Kanpur Superstars’ project for UP T20 League 2026 alongside Sameer Rizvi, Adarsh Singh, Shubh, Aaqib Khan, Pankaj ,and Vineet Panwar. However, the team will have to look for a replacement.
Mohsin Khan’s Performance In UP T20 League
The left-arm seamer had a brilliant first UPT20 season. The LSG seamer picked up 15 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 6.94. He was retained by the franchise in 2025 but missed the tournament due to injury.
Notably, Mohsin’s brilliance with the ball helped Kanpur Superstars reach the final, where they suffered a defeat against Meerut Mavericks.
Mohsin Khan’s IPL journey
Unlike many, Mohsin need not worry that a poor season in the UPT20 League might risk his IPL career. The left-arm seamer has been with Lucknow Super Giants since 2022 and has picked up 38 wickets in 31 innings.
IPL 2026 was special for the 27-year-old because he was the only bowler to register a five-wicket haul this season. Hence, Lucknow are sure that they will retain their star bowler, and so is Khan, who is committed to playing for Lucknow Super Giants.
Talking about IPL 2026 numbers, the LSG seamer took 11 wickets in 7 innings, but injury issues again forced the seamer to miss some matches.
Possible Destinations For Mohsin Khan
Mohsin Khan’s long history of injury is one of the reasons why every team might now go for the seamer, but what is sure is that he will be in high demand. Some of the possible destinations for the left-arm seamer are Kashi Rudras and Noida Super Kings.
Both teams lack a star bowler and a brand face. Therefore, these two teams are likely to enter a bidding race to sign Mohsin.
