Moreover, the former skipper has been reportedly co-operating with the investigation from the outset, and now wants details of all allegations made against him in writing. Just this past weekend, several NCCIA sources indicated that the body tried communicating with Mohammad Rizwan but the senior cricketer was unavailable to respond. The sources also added that Rizwan would often consult his lawyer before responding to the agency. Why is Rizwan investigated by the NCCIAMohammad Rizwan and fellow senior Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq were both summoned by the NCCIA earlier this month after the two cricketers returned from England midway into the three-match Test series. The two players were also given a multi-page questionnaire to fill out and return to the NCCIA for further questioning. While Imam filled his responses, Rizwan is understood to have raised his questions about the nature of the investigation and about the jurisdiction of the NCCIA. He even filed a petition against Pakistan’s national cybercrimes agency, only to be dismissed by the Lahore High Court. The petition challenged the NCCIA’s jurisdiction, claiming that it is the responsibility of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit to investigate any allegations of corruption or other activities in cricketing matters. According to Rizwan, the NCCIA has still not specified why the body is questioning him.How did Mohammad Rizwan perform in England? Before Rizwan was abruptly summoned by the NCCIA for questioning, the cricketer was involved in Pakistan’s disastrous Test tour of England. Initially a part of the Pakistan squad in England under the leadership of interim captain Agha Salman and regular skipper Babar Azam, the right-hander aggregated just 61 runs across four innings of the first two Tests. He made 41 of those runs at a brisk pace in the second innings of the series-opening Leeds Test, which Pakistan went on to lose by an innings and 103 runs. It was Pakistan’s abject capitulation at Lord’s the following week that prompted the PCB to release seven players from the squad, including Rizwan. Also Read- Rohit Sharma's ODI Record At Barsapara Stadium Guwahati Before IND vs WI 2nd ODI, 2026
