After confirming their complete list of retentions and releases, the Warriorz now hold a staggering purse of Rs. 3.65 crore.The franchise still has seven slots to fill in its squad, which includes two specifically for overseas cricketers. UP Warriorz Performance in WPL 2027The UP Warriorz management appointed Meg Lanning as their new captain before the WPL 2026 season earlier this year. The franchise confirmed the same after the Warriorz Women’s team finished at the bottom of the WPL 2025 points table.However, even under Lanning’s leadership, the team once again finished fifth on the five-team points table in WPL 2026 earlier this year. They managed to secure just two wins and sustained six losses from eight league matches overall, and held a dismal NRR of -1.076.When Will WPL 2027 Mini-Auction Take Place?As announced by the BCCI earlier this month, the WPL 2027 season will be played between January 14 and February 7 next year. However, the mini-auction of WPL 2027 will be taking place on October 28 at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.With all five franchises having completed their retention and release formalities, the focus will now shift towards the auction, where UP Warriorz will look to fill the remaining slots in their squad.
