A lot is on the line as the struggling LSG side will take on the defending champions, RCB, in match 50 of the IPL 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Both sides have had contrasting fortunes in the tournament so far, and the points table reveals the story.

RCB sit in third place, with 6 wins out of 9, and a win against LSG would take them to the top of the table, above SRH and PBKS. RCB defeated LSG in the reverse fixture at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and that would give them a psychological edge.

On the other hand, constant chopping and changes in the playing XI have hampered LSG’s IPL 2026 season. The Rishabh Pant-led side sits at the bottom of the points tally, having won just 2 out of nine matches, and they are virtually out of the tournament, with only a glimmer of hope remaining.

There’s a lot to play for at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, and ahead of the LSG Vs RCB IPL match, we take a look at who won the toss today.

LSG Vs RCB IPL Toss Update

RCB won the toss and Rajat Patidar was greeted with a rousing reception as the skipper elected to bowl first, keeping in mind RCB's strength (chasing).

To no one's surprise, RCB are going in with the same side that featured in the last IPL match against GT. The management wants to back the struggling players.

Talking about LSG, Rishabh Pant also wanted to bowl first. In terms of team changes, Josh Inglis has been ruled out due to an injury, and Arshin Kulkarni gets in the lineup.

LSG Vs RCB: What the captains had to say

Rajat Patidar: "[On the crowd support] We love the way the crowd comes and keeps supporting us, no matter where we are. It's not as loud as Chinnaswamy but it's still loud.

[What are they doing?] We will bowl first. At first, it looks pretty hard surface. It's black soil pitch. Last four or five matches, it was low score. We will look to restrict them to a low score.

[On the break between games] That was a good break. Everyone is looking in a good frame of mind. We have come back after 7-8 days of recovery and hard practice. We are looking forward to this game.

Rishabh Pant: "[Team changes] We have few injuries in our team. Arshin comes in for Inglis, he's a little injured. Mohsin is also a little injured. Shahbaz comes in for Sid.

[How to keep the team motivated] See the only thing is moving with more clarity. We know we are the top players but sometimes when clarity is missing, it can happen in cricket. Most of the times, there is talk about clarity. There are few changes in the batting order, hopefully we can figure it out and take it in the next season.
