Jay Shah announces the venue for the LA Olympics 2028
The ICC have formally called the new stadium in Pomona cricket’s home for LA28 because it is expected to be the main venue for cricket at the 2028 Summer Olympics.
For context, a new cricket stadium is being built in Pomona, Los Angeles. It will first be used by the Los Angeles Knight Riders in MLC 2026. But the bigger goal is to use this venue for Olympic cricket in 2028.

Film director accuses Jay Shah of credit-stealing
However, film director Rahul Dholakia took objection to Jay Shah’s tweet. He indirectly accused the ICC chairman of credit stealing, as he forgot to mention Shah Rukh Khan and Venky Mysore, who also played a key role in this project as part of the Knight Riders management.
Knight Riders is co-owned by SRK, who apparently backed the franchise’s expansion into the USA. The franchise CEO Venky Mysore also contributed to the stadium’s growth.
However, Jay Shah forgot to mention both of these stars, and Rahul Dholakia didn’t appreciate the credit being stolen from the Knight Riders. Not only that, but he said the city of Pomona should also have been mentioned, as they gave their land for the stadium.
