India’s emphatic win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 was followed by another heartwarming development off the field. Opener Ishan Kishan, who played a match-defining knock in Colombo, now finds himself in the spotlight for personal reasons.
During a visit to his ancestral village in Bihar’s Aurangabad, Kishan’s grandfather openly spoke about his relationship with Jaipur-based model Aditi Hundia. His candid remarks have fuelled talk that wedding bells may not be far away.
Ishan Kishan’s family approves of Aditi Hundia
Talking to ANI, Anurag Pandey, Ishan Kishan’s grandfather, made it clear that the family stands firmly behind the cricketer’s decision. He also added that the family respects Ishan’s choice completely.
The statement has largely put an end to years of speculation around Kishan’s relationship with Aditi Hundia.
"Whoever Ishan chooses to marry, I fully accept- his decision is mine, We are ready to accept whoever Ishan Kishan wants to marry. Aditi is his girlfriend. She is a model. One should accept what makes children happy," Pandey told media.
While neither Ishan Kishan nor Aditi has made a formal announcement, the grandfather’s words suggest that discussions within the family are already underway.
Reports hint that any formal ceremony, if planned, would likely take place after the conclusion of the World Cup.
Who is Aditi Hundia?
Aditi Hundia is no stranger to the spotlight. The Jaipur-born model shot to fame after winning Miss Diva 2018 and later finishing as a finalist at Femina Miss India.
Over the years, she has built a strong presence in the fashion industry and on social media. Rumours about her relationship with Ishan Kishan began during the 2019 IPL season.
Cameras frequently spotted her in the stands, cheering enthusiastically. Social media interactions between the two only added fuel to the fire.
According to reports, Aditi shares a warm rapport with Kishan’s relatives. Pandey even revealed that she once complimented him after watching one of his interviews, calling him youthful and energetic.
Ishan lit up Colombo with a batting blitz
While his personal life grabs headlines, Kishan’s cricket remains the main story. Against Pakistan on a turning surface in Colombo, Ishan Kishan produced one of the finest innings of his T20 career.
His 77 off 41 balls set the tone for India’s total and shifted the momentum early. Pakistan’s strategy was clear. They relied heavily on spin in the powerplay, trying to exploit India’s left-handers.
Ishan, however, took the attack to the leg-spinners. He slog-swept, reverse-swept and pierced the offside with authority. By the time he departed in the ninth over, he had scored 77 of India’s 88 runs.
It was a statement knock. His strike rate of 193 showed the dominance. More importantly, it showcased his growth against spin, an area that once raised concerns.
After his knock, India posted 175 runs on the board at the loss of 7 wickets. However, Pakistan collapsed to 114/10 in the chase, thus handing an easy 61-run victory to India.
