Former Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, is known for his chill-out personality and humour. A recent television promo featuring Rohit has gone viral after he appeared to credit Shikhar Dhawan instead of Virat Kohli while recalling an old incident involving Steve Smith.
Rohit is set to host ‘Family Full House With Rohit Sharma’, a new entertainment show on Indian television. The programme will premiere on September 19 on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
While the show is expected to bring out Rohit's fun side, one of his comments has already become a talking point among fans.
What Happened In The Incident Involving Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli?
It is important to mention that the incident took place during the first Test of the 2014-15 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide. Virat Kohli was leading India as Test captain for the first time. During the match, Rohit came on to bowl against Steve Smith.
Rohit appealed for LBW after Smith came forward to play the ball, but missed it. The umpire did not agree with the appeal, but Smith then appeared to question the decision, which did not go well with Rohit Sharma.
Rohit exchanged a few words with Steve Smith, resulting in a brief argument between the two. The situation eventually escalated, attracting the attention of more players.

Virat Kohli then charged towards Smith and joined the exchange. Australia’s David Warner also came over to calm things down as the conversation intensified.
The incident Rohit Sharma was referring to was an entirely different episode. David Warner was dismissed on a no-ball by Varun Aaron. After Warner's dismissal, Varun had celebrated aggressively. Once the front foot no ball was checked and Warner was recalled, he had a go at the Indian pacer.
It was then that Shikhar Dhawan intervened and asked David Warner to back off. Both, Dhawan and Kohli were fined 30 per cent of their match fees, Warner was fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 Article 2.1.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

Claims circulate that Rohit Sharma gave Virat Kohli's Credit To Shikhar Dhawan On TV
While recalling the episode on ‘Family Full House With Rohit Sharma’, Rohit explained how the disagreement started. He said Steve Smith padded away his delivery and then questioned the umpire’s decision after Rohit appealed.
However, while describing the incident, Rohit mentioned Shikhar Dhawan’s name instead of Virat Kohli in the fight.
“Steve Smith came straight and padded the ball I bowled. So, I appealed to the umpire. And then he started to ask the umpire. So, I said, ‘Why are you asking the umpire, bro? You should only bat. Let the umpire do its job, and let us do our job. Then, there was a bit of a heated moment when everyone started to come,” Rohit said in a viral video.
“It got a little bit heated. David Warner came close with Shikhar following him. So that was the story,” Rohit added.

When Virat Kohli Himself Revealed Rohit Sharma's forgetful nature
Interestingly, earlier, Virat Kohli himself spoke about Rohit's forgetfulness several years ago. During his 2017 appearance on Gaurav Kapur’s 'Breakfast with Champions', Kohli described Rohit as one of the most forgetful people he had ever met.
Kohli recalled that Rohit often misplaced his phone, wallet and iPad. He even joked about situations where the team bus had travelled some distance before Rohit realised that he had left his iPad on the plane.
