DC vs CSK - (Source: ScreenGrab/Hotstar)
Delhi Capitals are hosting Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2026 match 48 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The two teams have had an identical tournament so far as DC and CSK have 8 points in 9 matches.
Both teams are eyeing a win to close gap with the 4th placed team, but are threatened by rain looms. Notably, it rained in the national capital in afternoon, which certainly would play a big part in the game.
Talking about the toss, two captains - Axar Patel and Ruturaj Gaikwad walked down the track for the coin flip. The luck favoured the hosts as Delhi Capitals opted to bat first.
Shedding light on the team changes, Delhi Capitals have made a solitary change. Lungi Ngidi comes in for Mitchell Starc. On the other hand, CSK have made two changes. Akeal Hosein and Gurjapneet Singh return to the XI, replacing Prashant Veer and Ramakrishna Ghosh.
Interestingly, for CSK, they have left Shivam Dube out of the playing XI, but the star batter is most likely to return to the playing XI in the second innings when CSK will bat. For Delhi, they have left Sameer Rizvi out of the playing XI.

DC vs CSK: Captains Thoughts
Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings Captain): "[What would they have done on winning the toss?] We were looking to bowl first. Looks a bit dry. I don't think it will change much. Batting or bowling, it won't matter much.
[Thoughts on their last game] I think since the first 3 games of the tournament, we have been improving in all departments. Bowling has been good. Batting is clicking slowly slowly. Last game was good for us. But it's a new game for us. A fresh day and we have to play well.
Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals Captain): "We will bat first. [on the surface] It looks good. If it slows down in the 2nd innings, I want to give that advantage to my bowlers.
[on the mid table clash] The way the tournament is going it is an important game. You need to think about how you are playing and not take too much pressure from the points table.
