Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been ruled out of the remainder of The Hundred Women’s 2026 season in England. The attacking top-order batter has been sidelined halfway into the tournament owing to a calf injury.

The announced was confirmed by the MI franchise roughly an hour prior to their home fixture against the Manchester Super Giants Women at The Oval in London on Sunday, August 2. The 35-year-old also missed MI London’s previous Hundred 2026 match against the London Spirit at the same venue a couple of days ago.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge ruled out of The Hundred 2026 after three matches

Danni Wyatt-Hodge sustained a calf injury during MI London’s third match of The Hundred Women 2026 season against the Southern Brave in Southampton on July 27 earlier this week.

Yet to attain recovery from her injury, the cricketer has now been diagnosed with a left calf tear and will not be able to take part in any further match for her side this season.

The 35-year-old managed to play just three matches in the competition before the untimely injury, thus curtailing her season after scoring 93 runs in three innings at a splendid average of 46.50.

Who will replace Danni Wyatt-Hodge in MI London?

The MI London franchise has now named young USA all-rounder Ella Claridge as the official replacement of injured Danni Wyatt-Hodge for the remainder of The Hundred Women 2026 season

Yet to play a single Hundred match in her career, the England-born cricketer will be making her Hundred debut through her unexpected call-up.

The 23-year-old recently represented the Blaze Women’s team in the 2026 Vitality Blast T20 Women’s season.

At the international level, Ella Claridge has turned up in five ODIs and 13 Women’s T20I matches, all for the USA Women’s cricket team since making her debut back in October 2024 in Zimbabwe.

How has Danni Wyatt-Hodge performed in recent months?

Even though MI London has named young all-rounder Ella Claridge as a replacement, the absence of senior pro Danni Wyatt-Hodge has surely dented prospects of the franchise in this Hundred 2026 Women’s season.

Apart from averaging 46.50 in her first three innings of the tournament, the attacking top-order batter also aggregated 302 runs in the recently-concluded 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England

Maintaining a prolific average of 60.40, she finished the competition as its top run-scorer by a landslide. At one stage, Wyatt punched out successive match-winning half-centuries against the West Indies and New Zealand Women.

Winless MI London takes on Super Giants in must-win game

Yet to win a single game in The Hundred Women 2026 season, the Hollie Armitage-led MI London side is fittingly placed at the bottom of the eight-team points table. With three defeats and a tie from four games, the franchise is currently holding a dismal NRR of -1.379.

With Danni Wyatt-Hodge absent from the line-up, it is imperative for MI London to shrug off its latest setbacks as they take on the Manchester Super Giants in match 18 of the season at The Oval.
