Teams have reportedly emphasized maintaining discipline inside the camp while avoiding activities that could create unnecessary controversy among supporters.

CSK too has focused on maintaining decorum throughout a difficult season. However, current CSK spinner Akeal Hosein has now grabbed attention after engaging with a post on the internet that many fans could interpret as indirectly critical of the franchise itself.

Akeal Hosein has found himself at the center of social media discussion after fans noticed the CSK spinner liking an Instagram post that appeared critical of CSK’s overall bowling attack during the ongoing IPL 2026 season.

“Shreyas Iyer & Rajat Patidar are good Captains with good teams & good bowling units. Ruturaj Gaikwad is a good Captain with an Injured team & average bowling unit.

CSK fans don't hype this genius enough, probably because he is not among runs. But at least stop trolling him man.”

The post was shared by Instagram account @concept_ila and quickly grabbed attention because it described CSK’s bowling attack as an “average bowling unit.”

Fans were quick to spot Akeal Hosein’s account among the likes despite him being an active member of the CSK bowling attack. The interaction surprised many supporters as it seemingly hinted at agreement with the claim that CSK possesses an “average bowling unit” in IPL 2026.

Did Akeal Hosein Really Like An Anti-CSK Post?

While many fans viewed the Akeal Hosein interaction as indirect criticism of CSK’s bowling attack, the original Instagram post largely focused on praising Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captaincy during a difficult IPL 2026 campaign.

The post compared Gaikwad’s situation with captains like Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar, pointing out that CSK have dealt with multiple injuries and inconsistency throughout the season.

The post also argued that Gaikwad has not received enough appreciation from CSK fans despite handling a squad weakened by injuries and constant changes in combinations.

Although the “average bowling unit” line created a discussion online, some fans believe Hosein may simply have appreciated the support shown towards the CSK captain rather than agreeing with criticism of his side, making it an anti-CSK post.

CSK Injury-Hit But Still Alive In IPL 2026

There is no doubt CSK have struggled heavily with injuries throughout the IPL 2026 season, constantly dealing with unavailable players and forced changes in combinations.

Their problems increased further after young pacer Ramakrishna Ghosh was recently ruled out, adding another setback to an already troubled campaign.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Ruturaj Gaikwad has continued to lead the side impressively while keeping CSK alive in the competition.

CSK has remained competitive even with an injury-hit squad, which is why several fans believe Gaikwad deserves more appreciation for his leadership this season.
