Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are fighting hard to stay alive in the IPL 2026 playoff race. The five-time champions are currently placed fifth on the points table with 12 points from 11 matches. After a difficult start to the season, CSK have bounced back strongly with three consecutive wins (MI, DC and LSG), keeping their playoff hopes firmly in their own hands.
The 'Yellow Army' are tied on points with Rajasthan Royals but remain ahead because of their superior Net Run Rate of +0.185. However, injuries have created major problems for the franchise throughout the season.
One player earlier who was ruled out of IPL 2026 was Khaleel Ahmed, but finally, the CSK has named a replacement for the remainder of IPL 2026.
