The player draft of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 took place on Friday, May 15. With the addition of a new franchise in the form of Jamaica Kingsmen, the CPL 2026 ended up having the biggest player draft in the history of the tournament.

All seven franchises shaped a major section of their squads with certain retentions and breakout picks as they prepare themselves for the upcoming CPL 2026 season in the Caribbean.

CPL 2026 franchises confirm their local players

All seven CPL 2026 franchises have confirmed the local section of their squads. Apart from retaining certain players, the franchises also picked their share of ‘breakout players’.

Breakout players are developing Caribbean cricketers, and each franchise was required to pick at least three names under this category. Franchises were also allotted to assemble a squad of up to 17 players, including nine senior West Indies cricketers and five overseas stars to go along with three ‘breakout players’.
