As per the reports, Babar Azam will take the captaincy reins of the Kingsmen Hyderabad in their maiden PSL season. Adding to this, the move indicates that the former Pakistani skipper is set to cut the tie with his previous franchise, Peshawar Zalmi.

A look back at Azam’s memorable PSL journey with Peshawar Zalmi

The Pakistan cricket team has seen Babar Azam’s excellence on the big stage, and the PSL has played a crucial role in the batter’s career. Starting his journey with the Islamabad United, he spent a long time in his career with the Karachi Kings before moving towards the Peshawar Zalmi.

Joining the franchise in 2023, he took the side to a different level. Taking the reins, he took the team to the knockouts in his first season. In just 11 matches, he piled up a stunning 522 runs, including a blistering personal best of 115, along with one century and five fifties.

He carried the momentum into the following season, continuing his strong run, but the most recent campaign told a different story for the former Pakistan skipper. In 10 matches, he scored 288 runs with just three fifties.
