Pakistan’s campaign at the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 has been followed by another disciplinary setback away from the scoreboard.
After captain Fatima Sana was sanctioned earlier in the tournament, another Pakistan player has now found herself on the wrong side of the ICC’s rulebook. The latest incident came during Pakistan’s Group A clash against Hong Kong in Dubai.
Gull Feroza penalised by ICC after dissent during Hong Kong clash
Pakistan opener Gull Feroza has been fined 10 per cent of her match fees after being found guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 fixture against Hong Kong.
The offence falls under Article 2.8, which covers showing dissent towards an umpire’s decision during an international match.
Alongside the financial penalty, Gull, like her captain Fatima Sana, has also received one demerit point, further adding to her disciplinary record.
Which incident forced the ICC to punish Gull Feroza?
The incident occurred during the fifth over of Pakistan’s innings. Gull Feroza was given out leg-before-wicket, but instead of simply walking away from the decision, she gestured towards her bat.
She suggested that the ball had taken an edge before reaching her pad. That reaction was deemed sufficient for the match officials to level the charge.
There was no prolonged confrontation between Gull and the officials, nor did the incident develop into a major on-field dispute. However, the ICC's Code of Conduct also covers gestures that visibly challenge an umpire’s call, making the reaction punishable.
The charge was brought by on-field umpires Rabab Ahsan and Rokeya Sultana, with third umpire Shivani Mishra and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir also involved in the process.

Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees member Supriya Rani Das subsequently proposed the sanction.
Gull Feroza now has two demerit points
The latest punishment carries added significance because this is not Gull’s first disciplinary offence in the last two years. One demerit point has now been added to her record, taking her tally to two during the relevant 24-month period.
Gull had already picked up a demerit point during Pakistan’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup league encounter against Australia on June 23. The second offence means she has now reached two demerit points within the current disciplinary window.
However, the matter will not require a formal hearing. Gull admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Supriya Rani Das, allowing the case to be concluded without further proceedings.
Fatima Sana had also been punished earlier by ICC
Gull Feroza’s sanction comes after Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was handed an identical financial penalty earlier in the Women’s Asia Cup.
Fatima was fined 10 per cent of her match fee and received one demerit point for breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
That incident took place during Pakistan’s match against India, when Fatima gave Shafali Verma a send-off after dismissing the Indian batter.
However, like Gull, Fatima Sana admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Supriya Das. It was also her second offence within a 24-month period, taking her disciplinary tally to two demerit points.
