Amelia Kerr (Player of the Series and New Zealand Women Captain): (On giving opportunities to different players during the series) “When you’re building towards a 15-player squad for a World Cup, any player could get a chance. Injuries happen in sports, so every player has to be ready to step up. Unfortunately, some players miss out, and the lucky eleven go out there and enjoy it. But it’s been pleasing to see every player in the squad step up at different times and perform their role.
(On looking ahead to the upcoming ODI series and the World Cup) We’ve got three important games coming up in the ODI format that are worth points. After that, we head to the UK for the World Cup, which is exciting. It’s a title to defend, but with the way we’re playing and if we keep sticking to our strengths and building on what we have, we’ll give ourselves a really good chance of winning it.”

Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain): [on New Zealand] "They are very good. Pretty much outplayed us in all facets of the game. Amelia batted really well. We didn't execute very well to her with the ball and she hurt us when we missed. Just lost the way with the bat.
[on the positives] There's a lot to learn for us. We came out here with plans and what we wanted to execute but we just missed a bit. We can learn from our mistakes. I'm sure there's enough time to reset and come back for the ODIs. Different format. I think we'll take the learnings and hopefully be better from it."
Amelia Kerr (Player of the Match): (On her innings of 105 and the conditions while batting) “I had to fight hard at the start. Early on, the ball was nipping around, and their seamers bowled really well. I had to battle through the Powerplay, but the wicket got better, and once you get in, things become easier. The partnerships we built, even after losing two wickets with Brooke, helped free my style of play and allowed me to go out and enjoy my batting.
(On accelerating the innings after getting set) You’ve seen throughout the series that our intent with the bat is to come in and play aggressively. Once you’re set and have a platform, you can accelerate and enjoy that phase. Often you get out before reaching that stage, so it was nice to enjoy that at the end.”
