Matheesha Pathirana (Player ofthe Match): "Really, it started from last year. I played two games in two seasons and now playing regularly. I am happy. They give me confidence and still do even today. Really, this is my best T20 figures in my career. So, I am happy. The eyes thing celebration is natural and I am a die hard fan of Christiano Ronaldo. So, happy to contribute for the team and hope to do it moving forward for my team."
MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings Captain):"I think it was a very crucial game for a simple reason as the middle part of the points table is stacked well and in T20 what we have seen that you may play good cricket but you may have an off day because opposition plays brilliant cricket so you need to have a cushion. Its not something we can get comfortable with as 5-6 teams are around the same points and one other thing is few others will play each other as the tournament progresses. Last few games, the result hasn't gone in our favor whether its the Lucknow game which was washed out so its good to be on the winning side.
I was slightly doubtful, I wanted to bat first so the think tank said there is a chance of rain. By the time rain comes, major part of the game will be done with. I was slightly outnumbered so I went with majority.
That's been our strength. If there is some kind of confusion then we will sit and talk about it. Its not about who has said what. Ultimately we decide what's best for the team and you try to go with the majority. I felt the wicket will slow down and initially it is very good to bat on. That was the reason behind it.
People who don't have a very clean action, batters find difficult to pick them. In a format like this where you have to go after a bowler, it makes slightly difficult. That is just on the action part. We are not talking about the pace and variation he has. All those things make him very special. I personally feel he should not play a lot of red ball cricket. I think he shouldn't get close to it and in the white ball he should play as less 50 over cricket as possible. Make sure he is available for all the ICC tournaments, he will be a big asset for Sri Lanka. He has got pretty stronger and he will serve much longer for Sri Lanka cricket."
