The blame would surely be put on the Dindigul batting who did not look comfortable and lost their wickets against favourable match-ups. This would mean that Chepauk Gillies once again take tremendous stride towards the championship putting up a strong performance against a rival contender.
After getting swatted for 11 runs in his first over, Sai Kishore returned back to pick four wickets in his second spell. He picked up all the big wickets of Hari Nishaanth, Mokit Hariharan and the dangerous Vivek to put his team back in the game. Dindigul would be disappointed with not being able to chase down 160 after they set a record the earlier night bringing down a target of 200 runs.
A blistering start in the first half of the innings owing to the brilliance of captain Kaushik Gandhi set them up for a big target. But Dindigul changed the momentum in their favour with a brilliant mid block where they dried up the runs. Dindigul started the chase of exceptional as well, scoring at a steady pace of seven and a half runs in the powerplay. However the quality of Chepauk's two India returns would prove to be too much for the Dragons.
