In the high-octane theatre of T20 cricket, six-hitting is often considered the ultimate expression of dominance. With boundaries often dictating momentum, the ability of consistently clear the ropes tends to become synonymous with match-winning brilliance in the shortest format of the game.

While the world has witnessed a multitude of prolific six-hitters over the years, only a select few have managed to transcend eras and redefine the very limits of power-hitting with sustained excellence and staggering consistency. Here, we take a look at five such batters with the highest number of sixes to their names in T20 cricket.

Former West Indies cricketer Nicholas Pooran has dispatched 712 sixes in his 445-match T20 career so far. He has struck 149 of them in T20I matches for the West Indies team, more than 200 in the CPL and 167 for three different franchises in the IPL.

The ILT20 and the MLC holds Nicholas Pooran’s next biggest share of sixes, with more than 50 maximums each in the two T20 leagues.
