Sai Sudharsan, Gujarat Titans’ explosive and reliable opener, carried the team beautifully during the IPL 2026 clash between GT and CSK. He extended his sublime run and hence landed in an elite list where only legends existed before.
Sudharsan, the 24-year-old opener from Tamil Nadu, has had a meteoric rise in competitive cricket in the last couple of years. After a piling up runs in Ranji Trophy, he won the Orange Cap for scoring most run in IPL 2025 and subsequently made his debut in Test cricket.
Not only that, he stayed consistent throughout the IPL 2026 season as well by smashing yet another 500+ run season, thus being the favourite in the Orange Cap race for the second consecutive year.
That being said, 24-year-old Sai Sudharsan scored yet another successful half-century during the GT vs CSK clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad and ended up scripting a personal milestone. On that note, let's see the list of players with the most consecutive 50+ scores in IPL history.
Sai Sudharsan - 5 (2026)
Young GT opener Sai Sudharsan scored his fifth straight half-century of the season against CSK in the 66th clash of the IPL 2026 season. He built a 125-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill to provide a flying start to the Titans. This was his fifth 50+ score of the season, and his tournament tally surpassed 600 runs. Not only that, previously in the tournament, he scored a century, as his average remained above 50. For Sai Sudharsan, this feat is special because he landed in an elite list featuring big T20 players and it's just a start for the young lad.

David Warner - 5 (2019)
During the IPL 2019, former legendary Australian opener David Warner achieved the feat of scoring five consecutive fifty-plus scores while playing for SRH. That year, he amassed 692 runs at an average of 69.20, including a century and as many as eight fifties. However, SRH couldn’t get past the eliminator stage despite Warner’s heroics. Still, that year turned out to be David Warner’s second most successful IPL tournament, that too as a captain. He eventually went on to have an amazing IPL career, thus ranking among legends.
Jos Buttler - 5 (2018)
England top-order batter Jos Buttler scored five back-to-back 50+ knocks in the IPL in 2018. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, he scored 548 runs at an average of 54.80, including five fifties. Buttler was the backbone of RR’s batting lineup despite it being his debut year with the franchise. But unfortunately, RR got knocked out in the eliminator stage despite Jos Buttler’s heroics. Regardless, Jos Buttler went on to play 7 seasons with RR before they released him in the IPL 2025 mega auction pool, where GT picked him.
Virender Sehwag - 5 (2012)
Before the modern era of IPL, Virender Sehwag used to bat with aggressive intent and set the template for the coming generation. In the IPL 2012 season, he registered five consecutive 50-plus scores while playing for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). That year, he scored 495 runs at an average of 33.00, including 5 fifties. Overall in his IPL career, Virender Sehwag amassed 2728 runs at a strike rate of 155.44. However, despite Sehwag’s heroics throughout the years, Delhi couldn’t make a deep playoff run. To date, DC remains one of the three teams without an IPL trophy.
