India will lock horns against Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series beginning September 13, with all three matches scheduled to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. 

As the two teams prepare for the IND vs AFG T20I series, Afghanistan will look towards some of its experienced bowlers to make an impact against India.

Azmatullah Omarzai (2 Wickets)

Azmatullah Omarzai has taken two wickets in five T20I matches against India. He has bowled 11 overs in these matches and has conceded 97 runs, with an economy rate of 8.81.

Omarzai picked up his first wicket against India in the first T20I at Mohali on January 11, 2024. He dismissed Tilak Varma, who was caught by Gulbadin Naib. Omarzai finished with figures of 1/33 from his four overs.

Azmatullah Omarzai claimed his second wicket against India in the third T20I in Bengaluru on January 17, 2024.

Rashid Khan (3 Wickets)

Afghanistan's star spinner Rashid Khan has taken three wickets against India in three T20I matches at an economy rate of 7.91 and a bowling average of 31.66. He has bowled 12 overs and conceded 95 runs.

His best bowling figures against India are 3/26. Although his wicket tally is not the highest among Afghanistan bowlers in this list, but Rashid remains one of the biggest threats because of his experience and ability to trouble batters with his variations.

Karim Janat (3 Wickets)

Karim Janat has also taken three wickets against India in T20Is at an economy rate of 12.33 and a bowling average of 24.67. His most successful outing against India came during the second T20I in Indore on January 14, 2024.

Janat picked up two wickets for just 13 runs in two overs in that match. His performance helped Afghanistan put pressure on India during the game. Overall, he has bowled six overs against India and conceded 74 runs.

Fazalhaq Farooqi (4 Wickets)

It is important to note that Afghanistan's star bowler, Fazalhaq Farooqi, has taken four wickets in 4 matches at an economy rate of 9.4 against India in T20Is. His best performance against India came during the 2024 T20 World Cup Super Eight match in Bridgetown.

Farooqi took three wickets for 33 runs in four overs and dismissed Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.

Fareed Ahmad (5 Wickets)

At the top of the list is Fareed Ahmad, who has taken five wickets against India in three matches at an economy rate of 9.62. His best performance came in Bengaluru on January 17, 2024, when he returned figures of 3/20 in four overs.

Fareed dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson during that spell. Across three T20Is against India, he has bowled eight overs and conceded 77 runs at an bowling average of 15.4.
