Sri Lanka have long been a formidable force in ODI cricket, having produced several memorable campaigns on the international stage. Their ability to adapt to demanding situations and deliver under pressure has made them one of the toughest opponents on the field, particularly while chasing totals.
The Sri Lanka cricket team has also pulled off some successful run chases, in double quick time on some occasions. Here is a look at six of the fastest successful run chases by Sri Lanka in ODI matches while chasing 100 or more runs in a game.
6. 18.2 vs Pakistan, Dambulla, 2014 (T-101)
After bundling out Pakistan for 102 runs, Sri Lanka team was set a revised target of 101 runs in a 48-overs-a-side game in their series-deciding third ODI match back in August 2014 in Dambulla.
Tillakaratne Dilshan struck an unbeaten half-century from 55 balls with nine elegant boundaries and Mahela Jayawardene at number four listed 26 off 33 balls. Sri Lanka lost three wickets in the process but chased down its target in just 18.2 overs with seven wickets to spare.
